This studio offers preparation for AMEB and RSL examinations.

The main focus at Victoria’s studio is that ‘Music is fun!’

Anyone can learn to play an instrument, no matter your age. Victoria offers programmes to suit children as young as three up to older adults.

You will get the best instrumental education at Victoria’s studio and you will have fun learning a broad repertoire of music. All of the lessons are taught with dedication and care, making sure that you are getting the most out of your instrument.

Being part of this studio also means that you can be part of the studio’s other opportunities. We also offer: Music Theory classes, Holiday Workshops, Performance Parties, Practice Incentives, Challenges, AMEB exams etc. For those students who like to perform there are many opportunities throughout the year to show off your talents.

Private Piano lessons: Private classes can be tailored to suit the individual need of the student. There are an array of styles which the student can choose once the foundation has been covered, from Classical to Jazz to Pop etc. Victoria works with the student to choose the most fun course and ensures that the students goals and aspirations are met.

Adult students are welcome at our studio as Victoria has experience teaching all ages. Students can play for the sheer enjoyment or work towards AMEB exams. At our studio we understand that our adults have a busy life so we have termly bookings with a flexible cancellation policy and casual options. Private lessons can be taken on a termly basis or on a casual basis. All casual lessons are private and are booked by the student via an online studio calendar.

Private lessons are for all ages and levels. There is a long waiting list for Private lessons so we do have other options which don’t have as long a waiting period. Please see below:

Beginner Group Classes: There are Beginner Group classes for children aged 5 - 11 years old. These classes are small, only three to four children per class and each child gets their own piano or keyboard for the whole lesson. Group lessons are a great way for children to start their piano journey. In these classes children play as a group and individually with Victoria spending around 10 - 15 minutes of one on one time with each student. There is also a Studio Assistant in each group class to help students with their private practice. These are fun classes with lots of group performances to backing tracks and music theory games. (Once students reach Grade 1 level, they can either progress to Partner lessons or Private lessons.)

Partner Lessons: Partner lessons are for two students who are around the same level. Both students have their own piano to work on throughout the whole class. These classes are suitable for both children and adults and can be catered for the Beginner level up to Grade Four level. When possible a Studio Assistant will be available to help with private practice during the lesson as well as a music theory tutorial.  These classes are fun and incorporate lots of fun music theory games and aural skills as well as the piano techniques needed. (Once students reach Grade 4 level they need to have a Private lesson.)

Holiday Workshops: Workshops give students the opportunity to work on those areas which there is normally not time for in the weekly piano lessons, for example: improvisation, composition, ensemble work etc. It also gives students the opportunity to spend more focused time on areas which they need to improve. The workshops are only held in the school holidays and cover subjects such as: Improvisation, Composition, Music Theory,  Exam Preparation etc. These workshops are at no extra cost for our Termly paying students.

Music Theory Classes: Music theory classes are part of our Intermediate - Advanced programme. The classes are held once a fortnight during the school term. These classes provide students with more in depth knowledge of the theory behind the music which they are preparing. Music theory is an essential part of a musicians progression. The Intermediate - Advanced programme also gives students the opportunity to attend performance parties, hire the studio for a private recital and train as a Studio Assistant when over the age of fifteen.

Students at our studio receive lots of support for their home practice. They have access to Home Practice videos on our ‘You Tube’ channel, an online practice chart in their student portal which allows them to record their practice sessions into a graph and be able to contact Victoria for additional support.
