Q’s and A’s:

What are your teaching hours?

We are open during the school term Tuesday - Saturday for private lessons.

Group and Partner classes are held on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The Intermediate - Advanced Music Theory class is held on a fortnightly basis on Fridays.

We are closed completely from Saturday 2:00pm until Tuesday 2:00pm. We also close completely during the school Summer holidays and the school Term 2 holidays. If you contact us during those times we are closed, you will receive an automated reply and we will contact you when we reopen.

What are your fees?

Our fees are between $32.50 - $67.50 per class. Please go to the 2024 fees page for more information:

Our studio offers much more than the weekly piano lesson for our students. The fees represent this. We have a ‘Home Practice You Tube Channel’ with videos made to support our students home practice sessions. We give every student a private portal through our website so they have access to our online resources and sheet music, online practice chart, access to Victoria’s lesson notes etc. Students have the opportunity to take part in additional events such as - Piano Recitals, Holiday Workshops, Music Theory classes, Piano Practice challenges with awards etc. Victoria spends allot of time on the lesson plans for each students and communicates with each student or parent regularly to update them on their progress and offer additional support.

Do you offer trial classes?

This is a small studio so we can’t offer trial classes. Students need to book a full term of lessons or book a casual lesson at a higher rate.

Do you offer piano exams?

If students wish to sit for exams they study the AMEB syllabus Or RSL syllabus. Our students sit for practical exams and music theory exams.

Do I need a piano at home to start lessons?

It is preferred that you have a keyboard instrument at home. This can be a keyboard to start with, you would then be expected to purchase a piano later on, (either electric with fully weighted keys or an acoustic.)

Are group lessons or private lessons better?

This quite often depends on the student. For beginner students I find that the majority learn just as much in a group lesson with myself as they would in a private lesson. This is because my classes are very small and I also have an assistant helping, this means every student gets lots of one on one time. As the students advance the lessons need to be more tailored to suit the individual needs of the student, so most students will move over to private lessons by the time they get to AMEB Grade 4 level.

What are Casual lessons?

Casual lessons are for students who cannot commit to a whole term of classes. These classes are at the full rate. Termly booked lessons are discounted. You can purchase credits for casual private lessons and then book through our online calendar. These lessons are perfect for adults and teenagers who have a busy schedule and want to learn piano as a casual hobby. It is not advised that younger students book lessons on a casual basis as they need weekly lessons in order to maintain consistent progress.
